68th Annual Halloween and Costume Contest
sponsored by Closter Recreation Commission
​as part of the PTO Fall Festival and Classic Car Show

Sunday, October 27th

The parade will form behind the Closter Borough Hall at 10:10 AM and proceed at
​
10:30 AM SHARP through the center of town to Memorial Park for the Costume Contest.

Costume judging is in these four categories:  MOST BEAUTIFUL, FUNNIEST, SCARIEST & MOST ORIGINAL. The 68th annual presentation of the "Taaz trophy for BEST COSTUME" will be presented to the child with the most outstanding costume.

Parking for this entire event will be very limited at Memorial Park. Harrington Ave from West St-Cedar Lane/Old Closter Dock Rd will be closed from 7:30 AM - 4 PM on Sunday, 10/27.

​Please look for information on the PTO Fall Festival and Classic Car show being held at Memorial Park and on Harrington Ave.

Parents' Code of Conduct
I hereby pledge to provide positive support, care, and encouragement for my child participating in youth sports by following this PAYS Parents’ Code of Ethics:
  • I will encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches, and officials at every game, practice, or other youth sports event.
  • I will place the emotional and physical well-being of my child ahead of a personal desire to win.
  • I will insist that my child play in a safe and healthy environment.
  • I will require that my child’s coach be trained in the responsibilities of being a youth sports coach and that the coach upholds the Coaches’ Code of Ethics.
  • I will support coaches and officials working with my child, in order to encourage a positive and enjoyable experience for all.
  • I will demand a sports environment for my child that is free from drugs, tobacco, and alcohol, and will refrain from their use at all youth sports events.
  • I will remember that the game is for youth - not for adults.
  • I will do my very best to make youth sports fun for my child.
  • I will help my child enjoy the youth sports experience by doing whatever I can, such as being a respectful fan and assisting with coaching.
  • I will ask my child to treat other players, coaches, fans, and officials with respect regardless of race, sex, creed, or ability.

Closter Recreation's new Youth Cross Country Club will introduce our young Closter athletes to the wonderful sport of distance running!
 
The program will combine technical development and fundamental techniques with a focus on having fun.
 
Our exercises and drills will prepare athletes for a future in Tenakill Middle School cross-country, and/or distance running, while inspiring a love for running.

The fundamentals of warming up, cooling down, and pacing, proper hydration are all covered in the program.

61st Annual HALLOWEEN PARADE
Sunday, October 29th
12:30pm

(In the event of rain, the parade will be cancelled, but the Costume Contest will take place at Tenakill School at 1pm)
