Closter's Dom Mircovich Memorial 5K - 43rd Annual & Jim O'Halloran Kids Fun Run
Now in its 43rd year, the 5k and Fun Run events will be held on its traditional Sunday of Labor Day weekend. Both events will be held on Sunday, September 1, 2024. The Closter 5k takes in the the prettiest course around and is also the oldest 5k in the Northern Valley.

LOCATION
- Memorial Park, Harrington Ave., Closter, NJ
- We run rain or shine, but not if there is a lightning warning. Updated info on the race status due to dangerous lightning can be found by calling 201-750-9507 mailbox 6 on the day of the race IF the weather is questionable.
- 8:00 am - Bib Pickup by basketball courts for those registered on line (Note: There will be limited same day registration, but online registration is preferred.)
- 9:00 am - Jim O’Halloran Kids Fun Run (12 & Under)
- 9:30 am - Dom Mircovich Memorial 5K Walk/Run Race Start
- 10:30 am - Awards
- USATF Certified 5k Course NJ24017JLW
- Mostly flat beside reservoir, through neighborhoods, & charming town center
- Timing & scoring by Best Racing Systems
- Multiple water stops

- Note that the Fun Run makes a right onto West Street and another right on Harrington Ave to return to the start line.
- The Fun Run Distance is approximately 1k.
- Top three male and female finishers overall
- Age Group -1st three female & male finishers: 10U, and five-year Age Group Awards to 80+
- First three parent-child teams (Online sign up only. No day of team registration.)
- Fastest Closter resident-male & female
- Runners receive the highest award for which they are eligible only; no multiple awards are given.
- Moisture wicking T-shirt to first 175 registered 5k runners
- B-tag electronic timing system
- Ribbons to all Children’s Fun runners
- Post race refreshments
- Early-bird pickup, 2pm - 5pm, Saturday 9/2/23 at Runners' House, River Vale, NJ - TBC
- Registration at Runners' House and on event-day will be $30.
