2026 SKI CLUB Gr 6-8 (Closter Residents Only)

Please note that filling out this form is just our way of getting a rough estimate of the number of Closter 6-8 grade boys and girls that are interested in joining the ski club this season.
The main reason we need to have this form filled out is that in 2025 we had unprecedented number of students enroll in the ski club- over 135 boys and girls. We were then able to get 3 buses for the ski trips.
HISTORICALLY though, we have only had approximately 90-100 students sign up and this required FIRM cutoffs and some children were not able to participate. The maximum number of children per bus is 50, so if we have 110 children show interest, we WILL be back to sign ups on a first come, first served basis and only the first 100 students will be enrolled in the ski club.
By filling out this form, it is NOT committing you to anything, and conversely it doesn't mean you are registered for the 2026 ski club. That will only happen when you actually register your child for the program when registration opens in late October.
We will be having a NEW PARENTS ONLY initial meeting to discuss the ski club for the 2026 season. The Closter Recreation Ski club is open for Tenakill Students in 6th, 7th and 8th grade. (Closter residents only) Only new ski club members or parents with questions need to attend this initial meeting.
Mountain Creek is selling 5 lift/lesson packages for $180 plus taxes and fees. We are planning to have 5 trips which are tentatively scheduled for the following dates: Friday, January 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th and February 6th. The make-up date will be February 27th.
In addition to the cost of the ski lift tickets, there is an additional fee for the buses. This fee is $155.00
Registration for the Ski Club will be through the Closter Rec website and will cover the membership and buses for the 5 trips. Registration opens on Wednesday, 10/22/25 at 7 pm and sells out fast- and is on a "first come first served basis".
Mark your calendars for registration.
We will have information in greater detail as to what is needed/expected from everyone at the meeting, and we need at least one parent in attendance if your child will be a first timer to the ski club.
The NEW PARENT MEETING will take place on Tuesday, Oct 14th at 7:00pm at the Tenakill school auditorium. At this meeting, important information about the ski club will be discussed and we will be able to answer all questions that new parents might have.Please pass this message on to your friends and neighbors.
The Mandatory Parent/Child meeting that everyone in the ski club must attend will take place on Tuesday, November 11th at 7:00 pm at the Tenakill auditorium. Again, please put this FIRM date on your calendar for attendance.
