Closter's "Differently-Abled" Challenger Program was established in 1997 for students of all ages with special needs from all areas of NJ and NY. The "Differently-Abled" Challenger Program includes baseball / T-ball in the spring and basketball in the winter.

Closter Recreation’s Baseball/T-Ball Program for Differently-Abled children is scheduled to begin on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at 9:30 a.m.

The Baseball/T-Ball Program will begin with the first half of the hour in a clinic-type practice, aimed at developing the skills of the players.  Players will be playing a game in the second half of the hour.  This program is open to the children and young adults with special needs between the ages of 5 and up.

             May 2, 9, 16, 23 (Decorate Challenger float), 30
             June 6, 13, 20
                  
Time:  9:30am - 10:30am

​Location:  Memorial Field on Harrington Avenue in Closter

(All challenger participants are invited to ride on the float in the Memorial Day parade on Monday, May 25, 2026 in Closter.)

Registration Fee: $30
Please register early so your Jersey will be ready on 4/25!
